Description
Front pipes of the historic Hill and Son Grand Organ in the Soldier's Memorial Hall, Tanunda, South Australia. These beautiful restored hand-painted pipes are part of the organ which was originally in the Adelaide Town Hall. Although rebuilt in 1970, the organ was replaced by a Walker instrument in 1989. It remained in storage for five years until it was bought by the Organ Historical Trust of Australia, and with the help of local organisations was restored and installed over many years in the hall in Tanunda. It is now a focus for regular concerts, both solo and combined with other instruments and performers.
